"Year of Faith" Youth Pilgrimage 2013 |
|

May 12th will see the Diocesan Youth Council together with the youth of the diocese begin its assent of Croagh Patrick. Registration for the pilgrimage will take place at the foot of the mountain from 11am onwards. It is hoped that everyone who joins us will be present for mass at the summit at 1pm. It takes about 1hour 20minutes to climb - if you feel you are of average fitness. Try and pace yourself accordingly as the top can be very cold if you reach it too early and have to wait about til mass begins.
There will be a bbq in Murrisk afterwards for all who participated in any way.

The Tuam Diocesan Youth Council (DYC) was formed as a result of a lengthy consultation process which began in late 2007. As part of the Diocesan Assembly it was identified that there was a real need for a diocesan youth team that would provide opportunities for young people to develop and nurture their faith. After all, we are the future of our Diocese.

"Tuam Diocesan Youth Council is inspired by Jesus' special love of and care for young people. It seeks to help young people to find a sense of belonging as followers of Jesus and to take an active role in the life and ministry of our Church.
Tuam Diocesan Youth Council endeavours to ensure that all young people from our diocese be offered opportunities to experience, live, explore and celebrate their faith in meaningful ways. It does this by supporting and resourcing faith centred events at diocesan and parish level."
