Youth Alpha 2020

We’re running Youth Alpha!

Youth Alpha is all about exploring. It takes that youth group experience that we all enjoy, and infuses it with some pretty big questions! Those questions about life and faith that maybe you didn’t even know you were asking. Or you thought you were alone in asking. So, after being run in about 35 schools across Ireland, we’re delighted to be bringing it online to you this summer!

You don’t need to be a big thinker or a big talker to take part. Just a willingness to participate, and an openness to the exploring the questions it asks.

Who is Youth Alpha for?

  • This course is for students in Tuam Archdiocese who are doing the Pope John Paul II Award 2019-2020.
  • If you’re interested in Alpha but you’re not doing JPII this year – maybe you’re in LC or college – let us know! We will try run a separate course for you.

What does it entail?

  • 12 x 1 hour sessions over Zoom.
  • Meeting twice a week – so the course will run for 6 weeks.
  • Each meeting we watch a 20 minute video together.
  • We use the video as the basis for small group discussion.

What topics are covered?

  • Who is Jesus?
  • How does God guide us?
  • How can I pray?
  • How do I make the most of the rest of my life?
  • And more…

When does it start?

  • We hope to start in late June.
  • It depends on how many are interested and how many groups we need.
  • We’ll get in touch with all the details as soon as we have them.

Anything else I need to know?

  • Don’t be afraid or nervous to take part. Hopefully you will make friends out of it!
  • If discussions make you nervous, don’t worry. There will be no pressure on anyone. And remember too, there are no wrong answers!
  • And yes, if you take part, you will get credits towards your Pope John Paul II Award 🙂

How do I sign up?

  • Use the contact form below to register your interest by Sunday 7 June.
  • If you are under 18 we need your parent/guardian’s email address to email them a consent form.
  • Feel free to contact me if you have any questions – my contact details are at the bottom of the page.
