Parish Life – Living our Faith
An initiative of the Diocesan Advisory Committee, the TY Parish Projects Day is an annual event bringing transition year and fifth year students of the archdiocese together to present their RE Projects on the theme ‘Parish Life – Living our Faith’. The content of the projects is wide and varied, ranging from social justice, the environment, faith formation, and many besides. It encourages students to reflect on the activities they’ve done throughout the year in terms of how they’ve lived out their faith, and to link them to a passage of scripture. On the day itself, students gather at St. John’s Rest & Care Centre and set up displays of their work, and nominate a spokesperson to present a summary and reflection of their project. After taking the time to browse the displays and tour the basilica, the day concludes with a prayer service in the Apparition Chapel, a fitting end to an enriching day.
